Dad day out!

Dan and Hannah enjoyed a daddy day at Noah's Ark Zoo farm with a group from church. We even managed to keep dry and enjoy the whole day. Dan was entertained by Esther. Actually, he bossed her round and they went on the big slide about 600 times.

Dan's 4th Birthday

It took us a while to sort out the date for Dan's party but ended up being on his birthday and he had a lovely day. Gran and lump were around too. There was the excitement of getting his new pair of goggles. The fun of dressing up as spiderman and then later on, having a spiderman face painted. Then there was the madness of the bouncy castle and desparately wanting to play 'duck, duck, goose!' It was a great day and Dan was exhausted. Hannah enjoyed the attention too. Mum and dad are wrecked but very happy that he had a lovely day.

Sports Day

Dad, mum and Hannah came to watch the qualifiers for 2022 Olympics today. Obviously its not about winning but taking part but we were chuffed when Dan won the hat race, shopping basket race and running race. (Was winning hoop race until he caught his foot and fell flat on his face) Here he is with his medal and certificate. The first of many many sports days!

Here's a photo of Hannah in case you wonder what the rascal is up to. She is crusing around the sofa and trotting off cautiously by herself now. At last! (Dont quote me on that but we have been waiting for this for quite a while)

Grinning Cheshire Cats

The plastercast finally came off Hannah on Monday, after another few visits to Frenchay over the weekend to be replastered! Here's a photo from this week of the two monkeys - think their personalities come out a bit in this photo, with those grins....

Crazy weekend

It never just rains but it pours!! Another crazy weekend. Last couple of months have been mad. Took Hannah to A&E on Saturday morning and diagonosed with a broken arm and ended up with 36hours in hospital. Pooooorrrr girl!! Mummy stayed in overnight too with her. Its a long story! Now she is left with a pink plaster which should be just on for two weeks to mend the 2 broken bones in lower left arm. (Mends very quickly in little children...phew) We are wrecked from all the happening. Dan has a lovely weekend with his friends!! (just no more litterwars)

Litter Wars

This photo was edited by a friend of ours, showing Daniel and his friend Isaac litterpicking last weekend. Very funny!

Last weekend was crazily busy with The Noise project that we ran as local churches, see photos and video clips here. This week has certainly not been relaxing either. Nevermind. The Norths from Wellington are coming up for the day today. Grandma is always entertaining.

Rascals...

Peace and quiet. The children happily playing by themselves. Suddenly, Dan exclaims "Dad, Hannah is piling on me". I turn around to see them in a fit of giggles and run to get the camera

We know how to have great fun in the sand!!

Easter Weekend

It's been a long weekend in daylight hours... Sarah was singing the song 'Everlasting Day, It has no end and no beginning...' Hannah and Daniel are enjoying waking up in the night several times now, for various reasons... oh joy! Anyway, spent Friday afternoon down at the docks, looking for the ice cream van with the Waller family. Dan and his four friends scooting into the sunset. He's really getting into it now.
Saturday, was spent at Chew Valley Lakes with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Jez, Auntie Ronni, (Great ;)) Uncle Trev, and (Great;)) Auntie Rachel. Nice and chilled as well as being ordered around one by one to play frisbee, football and badminton with Dan. Sunday morning was celebrating that 'Jesus is Risen'! and then seeing Gran and Lump (Sarah's dad... long story) in the afternoon. Monday - we were zombies in the morning but went to the park in the afternoon with Gran and Lump. Stew has the rest of the week off church stuff so we'll see what happens but needs to include cutting the bush on his head, Daniel's bush on his head.

Palm Sunday!

During our church service at Ebe, yesterday morning, we had an inspiring children's spot item from our multi-talented year teamers. They picked 5 children as volunteers to come up the front and suddenly there were 6! Daniel had arrived too! But they carried on with a short quiz about Palm Sunday with some simple questions. Daniel's question was 'What did Jesus ride on when he came into Jerusalem?' Everyone anticipating the answer to be 'a donkey'. Daniel's smiling parents were at the back, trying to amuse Hannah by walking up and down with her. There was a pauseeeeeeeeee! And Daniel gave his well thought through reply with great clarity - A SCOOTER! It was hilarious. Daniel was deadly serious but chuffed that he made everyone laugh. Mum and Dad were laughing! It was another great moment. Best spend a bit more time on that particular part of the Easter story!

Hannah's 1st Birthday Party!

A year has flown by very very fast!!! It's a blur! Hannah had a first birthday yesterday and despite a very heavy cold, she enjoyed her birthday tea with the Wallers and Powells! It was crazy fun! Food everywhere and sometimes in the mouth! Hannah was treated like royalty and loved it. Over the weekend, its family visits on Saturday and Sunday, so both Hannah and Daniel will be well tired by Monday...

Been a while....

Here is a latest photo of the two little rascals, who are great friends. Very funny seeing the interaction between them both and signs of funny mischief in the years ahead. Half term week was full of days out, playing with friends, etc. Dan has then been back at playgroup for a week and half! This weekend, Sarah and I are off to friends wedding in Carlisle and leaving the monkeys to entertain Gran and Lump. (Not finding that an easy thought of leaving them, at all...) Then it's not long till Hannah's 1st birthday!! What happened to that year! Blurrrr.... Will try and get back into some random blogging again. Lost the blog-plot recently. Hope life is good with you.

A Scooby day!!

Well its been another year and here we are again celebrating the grand day 33 years ago when Irene gave birth to a baby boy that broke the mould. Little did she know about how she was inflicting the world with Stewart D North and his love for a dog!

Birthday started with traditional card opening with help from Daniel and Hannah (well actually Hannah ate the envelopes) followed by a full English Breakfast in bed - or did Stewart drift into a dreamworld! Actually, it was the usual morning chaos in the North house to get out of the door. A long morning meeting with some birthday treats of scones, etc. (warm and delicious). Then home for a quick lunch and then Stewart arrived at church to open his office door to find that there was someone there already.

Wrapped up and sat at the computer. It was obvious who it was because of the brown furry ear peeking out of the wrapping paper!
SCOOBY DOO!!!!!!!!

Stewart's excitement would be described as a 'sad man' by many but there you go. So working in the tidy office this afternoon was difficult, due to the distraction of a massive dog in the room! What a wonderful gift by some good friends!

Anyway, Stewart returned home to find more scooby doo balloons on his front door and then walked inside to find the party was ready to begin. First, there was pass the parcel, which Daniel 'surprisingly' won! Hannah ate the paper and laughed! Then Sarah came up with the inspirational idea of musical bumps and quickly volunteered to operate the music with Hannah. Daniel and Stewart enjoyed jumping and throwing themselves around and calling it 'dancing'! Then confusion came, when they decided to play musical statues and forgetting which game they were playing.
Then came teatime and we enjoyed a lovely birthday cake. Yet again, Sarah managed to avoid the camera.
Finally, we started to chill out on the sofa and then bedtime. Stewart and Sarah enjoyed a lovely meal out and then chilling at home with our fab babysitters and consuming choc pudding!

Training

Time to teach Hannah the wonders of blogsites! Look how happy she is too or has she discovered she knows how to grab dad's new wireless mouse and hide it!
